Abry Elmassian has a multidisciplinary professional background that has spanned various industry intersections while having mental health as the informing foundation of her work.
Abry has worked in legislative policy reform for previously incarcerated individuals, and family reunification support services for folks who have been affected by incarceration, abuse, homelessness, and other manifestations of trauma. She worked towards creating spaces of community care in juvenile hall and in safe houses for women and children and worked as a residential counselor for young men. Music, art, collective experiences of expression and growth, and connection have been an integral part of her upbringing, and ensuring comprehensive safety within large-scale cultural events has been her focus since 2018. Since then she has helped create and implement wellness and safety protocol and standards in large-scale event spaces/experiences, and created bridges between security and medical with harm reduction principles and prevention methodology as guiding principles.
